Sneakers – Kanye West’s Yeezy Boost 700s Just Debuted in Black
The new Yeezy silhouette gets the murdered-out treatment.
Kanye West’s Yeezy Boost 700 “Wave Runner” is set to ship out any day now to customers who pre-ordered the kicks all the way back in August, meaning for the first time in 2017, a brand new Yeezy Boost silhouette will be in people’s closets. As we’ve told you before, the 700 is a radical departure from the more futuristic high-top 750s and lowtop 350 and 350 V2, instead being way more dad-like in shape and silhouette. In short, the Yeezy 700s are perfectly in-line with the chunky running sneaker trend that’s everywhere, and now that Kanye West has put his stamp of approval on the trend, it’s only going to get bigger. So far only the original “Wave Runner” colorway of the 700 has gone on sale, but today West was spotted wearing an all-black version of the style.
Like its predecessor, the all-black 700s feature a full-length Boost sole that gives the shoes next-level comfort. (Perfect for hypebeasts and Cool Dads™ alike.) All-black versions of kicks are always a fan-favorite because their monochromatic design makes them instantly more wearbale, and a lot more badass. Plus, it’s the ultimate test of a sneaker silhouette; with no fancy color combos to hide behind, it puts the actual shape of the shoe front and center. And in the case of the Yeezy 700, it passes the test, albeit with the slight advantage of incorporating reflective 3M elements that make the sneakers shine bright at night.
There’s no word yet on when the all-black Yeezy Boost 700s will hit shelves, but it’s safe to say they’ll drop sometime in 2018 alongside brand new Yeezy silhouettes like the 550 and the forthcoming Yeezy basketball sneaker. Yeezys are currently some of the most coveted and hyped-up sneakers on the market, but it seems like Kanye West has no intention of slowing down his brand any time soon.
