Prince George, 4, has an entire metropolis to his name and probably a gazillion dollars to his inheritance, but the tiny royal has discovered what we all know: the stuff we want most is the stuff we can’t have.
This Christmas, George—not eligible to drive, officer just of our hearts—has requested a police car. We know this because Prince William hand-delivered his list to Santa Claus on a trip to Helskini, Finland, this week. Written with characteristic British restraint, the letter opens, “Dear Father Christmas, this year I have been naughty/nice.” (George circled “nice.”) And though the form makes space for five requests, George filled in just one. Modest! He put it in the middle of the sheet, leaving numbers 1, 2, 4, and 5 blank. Fascinating!
According to the BBC, William noted that his son wanted just one present, which he deemed “probably ok.” And he backed George up, like all fathers should, that he had indeed been “nice” over the past 12 months. I mean, of course he has been. Look at this face.
At the bottom of the form, George printed his signature. It suggests a sculptural and minimalist style; very regal.
